What a weekend! TWO games decided by LESS THAN TWO POINTS! Our weakest draft (Chelsea) has been dominant and our strongest draft (Josh) has flopped. Receivers have been the engines of strong wins, and injuries are already the headline for multiple teams.
Already looking to week 3, here’s a snapshot of where things stand:
1) ZAC – Randy Savage
Record: 2-0
League Rank: 1st
JB+: 3rd (3)
What we’re seeing: Zac is all air force, with almost 150 points to receivers ALONE over his first 2 games. He’s the favorite for League Champ, if he can manage up a lagging ground game.
Next: vs Jean (2-0)
(2) CHELSEA – Team NFChel
Record: 2-0
League Rank: 2nd
JB+: 1st (8.5)
What we’re seeing: A complete team, with reliable performances and weekly standouts. The highlight: a Dallas D/ST that looks unstoppable. Defense wins championships 😉
Next: vs Blake (1-1)
(3) JEAN – Planet earth Clueless
Record: 2-0
League Rank: 3rd
JB+: Tied 3rd (3)
What we’re seeing: A little luck and a LOT of talent for Jean so far. With a lossless start in a weak division, Jean is already a favorite for the post-season.
Next: vs Zac (2-0)
(4) BLAKE – Jordan’s Love
Record: 1-1
League Rank: 4th
JB+: 2nd (3.5)
What we’re seeing: Absent the Chubb injury, Blake has managed a near-perfect fantasy org. Leaving the least amount of points on his bench of any team, Blake clearly sees the whole board. Lookout everyone!
Next: vs Chelsea (2-0)
(5) KAYLA – Winnersville Prancing Pandas
Record: 1-1
League Rank: 5th
JB+: Tied 6th (1.5)
What we’re seeing: Week 1? Never heard of it. If Kayla can manage through some star injuries, she’s a strong contender.
Next: Josh (0-2)
(6) JOE – Terra Firma DaBears
Record: 0-2
League Rank: 6th
JB+: Tied 6th (1.5)
What we’re seeing: New season, old story. Despite a VERY talented roster, Joe manages to catch every fantasy opponent on their best performance. This can’t go on forever—he’ll start racking up wins soon.
Next: Veronicca (0-2)
(7) VERONICCA – Team NachoTaco
Record: 0-2
League Rank: 7th
JB+: Tied 6th (1.5)
What we’re seeing: Close games broke the wrong way, as V is less than a point away from being 1-1. A couple clutch waiver adds (Kyren Williams for MVP!) might be all she needed to start seeing some W’s.
Next: Joe (0-2)
(8) JOSH – Commissioner of Chaos
Record: 0-2
League Rank: 8th
JB+: 5th (2.5)
What we’re seeing: Good, but not good enough. Josh’s stars have been eclipsed by injuries (directly and indirectly—hang in there Garret Wilson!), and he has failed to manage volatile players. Every league needs a loser.
Next: Kayla (1-1)
What is “JB+”? It’s a strength index score created by your Commish to provide a measurement of how well each manager has done compared to the rest of the field. Trying it out, not sure if it will be meaningful. Click here to check out more about what it means.
