3 weeks into the season, it’s time to take the League’s temperature.
RANKINGS ACCORDING TO THE COMMISH
(ESPN’s playoff seed prediction in parenthesis)
(1) Blake (1st): 3-0, 353.88 total points scored
Commish Commentary: If he can keep winning, he’ll stay in the lead. Lose a game, lose the lead.
(2) Zac (3rd): 2-1, 411.06 total points scored
Commish Commentary: No worries here. If he can continue to win most of his games, his points scored will guarantee him a spot in the postseason.
(3) Veronicca (4th): 2-1, 367.68 total points scored
Commish Commentary: She’s got options: score more points, or stay ahead on wins, or Blake loses a matchup. So far, the West is a competitive Division in our league and the East is not, so she needs to keep up in points if she hopes to beat out the competition. Currently sitting one game behind the lead, Veronicca also has Chelsea and Jean hot on her tail. Either 1 loss or a 5 point PF deficit could mean a tumble to 5th place.
(4) Josh (2nd): 1-2, 387.86 total points scored
Commish Commentary: Keep to the plan. Wins and losses are random, points scored is less random.
(5) Chelsea (5th): 1-2, 364.88 total points scored
Commish Commentary: Currently in a trio with Veronicca & Jean, playing musical chairs for 2 playoff spots in the case that Veronicca loses a game. The situation could also get more interesting if Blake drops a matchup.
(6) Jean (6th): 1-2, 363.86 total points scored
Commish Commentary: Identical situation as Chelsea, 1.02 points removed.
(7) Joe (7th): 1-2, 333.56 total points scored
Commish Commentary: Joe needs points. Lucky for him, Mahomes, Jones, Chase, & the Cowboys D all have something to prove.
(8) Kayla (8th): 1-2, 296.90 total points scored
Commish Commentary: Doesn’t this feel familiar? Didn’t she also suffer from an injured QB last year? When will Kayla catch a break? She had a great W1, but then the story became about injuries and tough positional matchups. She has a solid squad, and her X Factor might end up being Brock Bowers. With a Brock Purdy pickup on the waivers and a couple of big stars down the roster, she’s due to strike back up in the rankings in a big way. If her PF deficit gets any worse, her only path to the playoffs will quickly become her win-loss record.

- None from Zac! This is either some great roster management or a lack of position depth—given his injury report, I’m leaning toward the latter.
